An English leather correspondence box with Braham lock and unusually in original leather protective carry case. In the manner of Asprey of London, c1860.
In a conker brown leather with original working key, recessed handle, removable inner tray. The inside of the lid holds an X-shaped document holder.
The outercase has the name E.B. Ward stamped within the leather.
The outer leather protective case has some loses however it has done its job and the inner leather box is in good order externally, with only a few marks to the leather. Internally the tray has some damage to top edge and some wear. Coming in as found condition.
