Procession of Forms / Signed McKinley, (1988)

Procession of Forms / Signed McKinley, (1988)

A chorus of male figures advances across the surface in rhythmic silhouette, each echoing the last like an anatomical fugue.

Rendered in muted mauves and rosewood browns against a saturated yellow ground, the overlapping bodies possess a dual quality of sculptural weight and graphic flatness. Thick, decisive contour lines define musculature, while subtle shifts in colour suggest the temporal passage of the procession. The work reads as both a powerful study in the male form and a meditation on multiplicity and time.
