A Pair of 19th Century Morrison & Crawford Spaniels

 

Unusual near pair of diminutive Scottish vernacular seated Spaniels with chain, collar and locket.

Moulded form in treacle brown slip glazed earthenware by Morrison and Crawford at their Rosslyn Pottery, Kirkcaldy. 

Unmarked. Late 19th Century. 

Very good condition, with no chips or cracks.

William Crawford and Adam Morrison established a pottery at Oswald Road, Gallatown, Kirkcaldy from March 1879. Crawford was described as a ‘Potter of Linktown’ and Morrison had been a traveller with Methven’s Pottery. Morrison and Crawford was the last pottery to survive in Kirkaldy and finally closed in 1932.
