A wonderfully busy glimpse into an artist’s working studio. Scissors and brushes hang from the wall, paintings are stacked against one another, and shelves are crammed with all manner of interesting things.
I particularly like the way the artist has tackled the clutter. Nothing is painstakingly described, yet you can make out the tools, canvases and little objects that accumulate over a lifetime of making art.

Provenance : Studio of Scottish painter Eric Ritchie (1934-2026) and his wife Rena Ritchie (née Gibson). Eric was an Edinburgh College of Art graduate known for his mural work, stage designs and exhibitions at The Scottish Gallery. With pieces held in the Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh College of Art and John Muir House. This collection represents material from their shared Edinburgh studio. Some works are signed; others remain unsigned, consistent with working-studio practice.
