Babs Redpath was born in London and studied at Edinburgh College of Art in the mid 1940s, her teachers included William Gilles and John Maxwell. It was likely here that she met her husband Thomas ‘Kim’ Redpath, a fellow artist and nephew of well known artist Anne Redpath. They had twin sons, Adam and Tom.
She worked in the education department of Kelvingrove Museum and Art Galleries in Glasgow, where she settled. She exhibited widely in Scotland including RSA and SSA. Her work is held in collections throughout Scotland including the Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde and NHS Lothian.
