A wonderfully pared back landscape, with a great expanse of pale blue sky sitting above a narrow strip of green countryside.
I love how little the artist has needed to describe. The rough, broken texture of the blue suggests clouds and shifting light, while the darker greens anchor the whole composition.
There's something very Scottish about that enormous sky and low horizon, although we don't know where it was painted.
An unsigned mixed-media work on paper, with lovely visible marks from the artists process.
